Juicing

Learning to juice greens each and every morning is what quite literally saved my life. The abundant micro-nutrients and alkalinity of greens changed my inner pH balance, restored minerals and helped my liver back to a normal functioning state. The perfect green juice recipe is ultimately up to you, but mine I have tweaked and changed along the way to incorporate those ingredients my own body needed - you can see my own concoction here on the list. Now, it's my daily boost and I cannot start a day without my glass of greens.

How Do I Juice?

Oscar Juicer

When it comes to juicers you typically get two main types, centrifugal juicers and masticating juicers. Masticating juicers such as the Oscar Juicers use a slow grinding and crushing motion to extract juice. Centrifugal juicers such as the Breville Juicers finely grate the fruit and vegetables and use a fast spinning motion to extract the juice.

However, centrifugal juicers tend to oxidise the juice because of the fast motion. This is why the juice is more foamy. Masticating juicers use a much gentler process which preserves the healthy nutrients and enzymes in the juice - this means that the masticating juicers yield a far superior, healthy juice!

I personally own an Oscar cold press masticating juicer which I love - I've had it since 2018 and I still use it every single day without problems. I first wash and cut up all the fruits and veg that I need, and simply place them bit by bit into the feeder at the top of the juicer - it can't be any easier than that! The masticating motion of the juicer feeds the items so that I don't even have to push down hard to force the ingredients down. It's easy to take the used parts off and wash as normal.

Of course the juicer you choose is up to you - always use what works best for you. I do recommend that you shop around when buying, though - prices vary considerably from site to site!
