If you are suffering from an autoimmune disease, like (for example) psoriasis, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, inflammatory bowel disease, multiple sclerosis, coeliac disease, polymyalgia etc, you can turn your life around by going green. Whole-food plant-based nutrition has proved to reverse a great number of these illnesses.
But what is autoimmune, really?
The mistaken theory is that one's body attacks itself, and doctors prescribe medications for the symptoms of the pain that this causes. They cannot, however, tell you WHAT causes the illness, nor let you know what to do about it.
Your body builds up a defence against intruders, and this defence system attacks the intruders in order to save you. Most intruders are actually pathogens, in the form of viruses.
And here is hard part to swallow : pathogens thrive on processed foodstuffs.
In order to reverse chronic autoimmune diseases, you really need to cut out the processed stuff - especially gluten. And surprisingly enough, gluten is not just found in bread and pasta. It's in an alarmingly high number of processed foods, and also in cosmetics, soaps etc. Your skin absorbs all the crap that you put onto it, so merely eliminating bread isn't going to cut it (ahem).
