So often in life, we can make a huge gain, in our jobs, our personal relationships, our studies.....only to meet up with a closed door somewhere along the way, often soon after the gain. And if we are in a fragile state of mind, these little hiccups can be brutal.
Since starting this blog, I have opened myself up to a lot of personal attention, not all of it positive or encouraging. I do understand that sharing beliefs, lifestyles, whatever, is opening the floor to hearing other people's opinions too, which of course we are all entitled to. And I do know that everyone is living in their own reality, and things they say and do are exclusively about them. But it IS frustrating, having opened up the door only to let in a barrage of negativity, when that is the one thing I have been trying to get rid of in my life.
And I guess the worst part of it is, that daily life also gets in the way; cars that constantly go in to the repair shop, kids writing exams at school, tight finances, leaking roofs, stress at work with students who constantly muck up the teacher roster.....the list is endless. So when these two dark forces meet, something's gotta give, and it's usually the bedpost when I collapse in a heap at the end of the day.
It's difficult to stay focused and positive in a world full of stress, it's difficult not to take things personally, and it's difficult to keep believing when the goal posts keep getting shifted. I can honestly say that I would not have made it this far, if I had not been on a plant-based and whole-food lifestyle. My body would have shut down completely and I would be one of those perpetual hospital patients, going in and out and confusing the doctors as to my real ailments.
So. In a nutshell - we cannot always be in the same spot physically and mentally or emotionally. When we are mis-aligned, anything can happen. But the trick is to KNOW that this is happening, to take a step back, and to say "Hey! I can do this!"
And then, when we are in the same spot and everything is aligned, the universe smiles....
